Colorable Bookmarks

A while back, I started to trace and ink my own photography. (I know how to draw.) I'm not usually big on tracing unless I'm tracing my own work to transfer it or reproduce it onto another medium. Anyways, a lot of my bookmarks came from a personal necessity to have markers in my house. I'm constantly looking for something to shove into my books. Usually toilet paper or a napkin which is so tacky.

That, and this particular project was helping me cope with a lot. It was allowing me to mindlessly draw without pressure because I was going through a lot of heavy s*** at the time. I noticed when my mental health is in the pits, it makes my drawing very inconsistent. I have gone years without drawing as a result, and it creates massive confidence problems, and so this was a way for me to break out of that stagnation. I think about during this time, I had not quite barely left my cult but was still freshly out too. I was in a weird state of limbo. And it was really messing with my head and my ability to just sit and draw and vibe.

The project started in 2024, but my tablet ended up getting broken by my autistic son. Absentminded curiosity... Not a meltdown. I was devastated. He knows better now. That was life shattering for me... I don't even want to talk about the ugly crying.

At that point, I didn't think I'd be able to ever replace it. Poverty is a b*tch. For me that meant digital art was over. My dreams of learning and doing digital art, poof gone. (Please no yucky thanks for birth control ad comments... this is a risk parents take having kids. Sh*t gets broken sometimes. Lots of lessons for everyone to learn. It's life. It's a consequence of bringing life into the world. Parenthood isn't for the faint of heart.)

Anyways, it was bought for my birthday back in 2008/09. A wacom Intous 4. They are expensive, and the fact that mine ran as long as it did without problems, was a huge feat of engineering and quality. (Not a paid endorsement, personal opinion. 10/10 would buy again.)

Well thankfully, a friend of mine bought one for me for Christmas. And I didn't have to go long without one. I bawled my eyes out. Another Wacom tablet, one with wifi, chargeable and wireless or wired, touch screen. Pretty cool stuff. I was only able to finish these bookmarks and a ton of other works in progress because of her.

So due to the fruits of my labors and the generosity of my friend, I have shared my finished bookmark projects on DA for others to print, color, and laminate.

Below is an example of the bookmarks in an all in one file. They are also split. You will find links to them on my Other Freebies page here:  https://artofladyseshiiria.blogspot.com/p/other-freebies.html full resolution downloads. You may use the for personal use only, I retain full copyrights, and they may not be mass produced or sold. It is free content, please respect my wishes, and thank you for understanding. As an exception, if you are a teacher and would like to print this out for class, that is fine. You are welcome to do so.
