Below are some more example photos for your enjoyment!

As you can see I've posted photos of different sized mugs/cups so you can get an idea of what the sizing will be like. For my main examples I used Hobby Lobby's Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek in Tobacco. This was the closest color I could find anywhere online and locally that wasn't too yellow gold as I was going for a brassy color.

This pattern has been a few months in the making, as in mostly its finalization. Stuff like photo's, combing through the written tutorial multiple times, that sort of thing. I started this back in January I believe and I sat on it for a while too until I had the right colored yarn for the final demonstration in the tutorial.

If you like fantasy, steampunk, mechanical engineering, or dwarven aesthetics you will definitely love this project! When I designed this I originally used red heart yarn which behaves differently from some yarn out there. It seems to be great for acrylics, cottons, or blends. If you are looking for absorbency obviously look for cotton as its the most absorbent. Though, I don't know about you but I don't exactly spill my drinks often. So if you're looking for something that more resembles a gear or cog (cog is a loose term, a cog is actually another name for the tooth on a gear but mainstream wise its become interchangeable,) I would look for gold's that have a more brown tint, not a yellow one for this one.

Of course, it doesn't strictly need to be dwarven aesthetic in brass, for those that like mechanical engineering and who appreciate cool stuff like this you could definitely pull this off in silver or grey tones, or regular yellow gold's.

The pattern was designed in such a way to lend it a textured look, almost like dividing the sections. It was inspired from my gaming days. Obviously not an exact replica. (I wish I had a better rig, but I'm not doing so hot when it comes to computer stuff currently. My setup is really old, that's why I don't digitally draw a lot currently. I can't run time lapses well. Certain programs and games are out right now.)

When I wrote this, I wrote it for mostly beginner crocheters in mind. So the pattern is written with traditional slip stitching in mind, you can look at the ornament example to see what I mean. For those that don't want their seam to travel the images provided show case through out the whole tutorial the invisible join. So it has been tested for both normal crochet and invisible joining methods.

For those that don't know what an invisible join is, you'll roughly loosen your last stitch on the row to be about the height of the main stitch in the next row. Pull your hook out, insert from the back, and then insert into the last stitch of the row, slip stitching backwards. I don't provide instructions for the invisible join in the tutorial as you can find plenty online from other blogs, or videos on YouTube free. All in all, it's relatively simple to learn and will level up your crochet game.

I hope you'll consider this pattern, and any feedback you choose to give me is welcome and valuable! Thank you for checking this page out and thank you for reading!
